Robert Smilk

Robert J. Smilk, a distinguished figure in funeral services, has been a licensed PA Funeral Director since 1977, known for his unwavering dedication and compassion. Growing up in Merion, PA, Robert graduated from Lower Merion High School before pursuing dual educational paths at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy & Science and Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.

After settling in Newtown, Bucks County in 1996, Robert has been an active member of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. His commitment extends beyond his profession, as a 32nd Degree Mason affiliated with Hackenburg-Mt. Moriah Lodge, #19, F. & A. M., A.A.S.R. Valley of Reading, PA, and LuLu Shriners Temple. He is also a member of Cardozo Lodge, Brith Sholom, and holds a life membership with Bnai Chaim Social.

Robert’s mission statement reflects his core values: “To faithfully serve my profession in the highest degree possible and strive to provide the utmost care, compassion, and service to the families that have placed their trust in me.” His life’s work exemplifies a commitment to excellence and a deep-seated respect for the families he serves.

Since 1981, Robert has shared his life with Michelle Kalaminsky Smilk, and together they have raised two sons, Bryan and Joshua, the latter married to Kelli Moshen Smilk. Robert beams with pride as Zayde to Jexi Adi Smilk, born in April 2023.

In addition to his professional and community involvements, Robert enjoys enriching his life through travel, particularly cruises and overseas adventures.
